Subject: REPARATORY HOLY HOUR BY ST. XAVIER’S SCHOOL,
BELGAUM

          It was on 7th of November 2012, 150 students and staff, young and old joined together under the leadership of Fr. Philipkutty Joseph, Principal of St. Xavier’s School for a One world praying children and youth of the Eucharist Hoiy Hour”.





An hour of Eucharistic Adoration was organized by a team of priests, Vicar General, Msgr. Lucio Mascarenhas, Fr. Philipkutty Joseph, Fr. Cyril Braggs, Fr. Nelson Pinto, Sr. Priya Kuruvilla, Staff and students, young and old of St. Xavier’s Belgaum.


   The main objective was to bring the Eucharistic Jesus to little ones, young and old praying together as one family, praying for the broken families, to deepen the faith in the year of Faith 2012, To pray for the world apostle of Fatima, to pray for 8th  Indian National Council meet which is going to be held at GOA. 


“His Holiness, Pope Benedict XVI while imparting the apostolic blessing, sends His prayerful best wishes to all those who share His Holy hour.  The Holy Father holds those devoted sons and daughters close to His heart and He prays that through the intercession of Our Lady of Fatima they will always remain close to the Lord Jesus and His Holy Church “.
          On this wonderful occasion the loving students and staff of St. Xaviers young and old joined hands in prayer and promised Mother Mary to be her loving obedient children.



   As our Lady of Fatima appeared to three little ones Francis, Jacinta and Lucy we too want to walk in the same path to see the apparitions. We want to see your mother as our Mother and the Mother of JESUS.  We promise you to be good children was the prayer of the day.

          Rev. Fr. Cyril Braggs exposed the Blessed Sacrament as the choir sang, O Sacrament Most Holy. Rev. Fr. Philipkutty Joseph continued with the prayers. The Fatima children used to recite, the “Apostles Creed”, “Angel’s Reparation and pardon prayers”. 
   The prayers and petitions were read by the teachers and students of standard Xth. Kumar. Bartholomeo, Allwyn, Kumari, Rachel, Poonam, continued by Sr. Priya, Sabrina, Nirmala, Bertha, Carmeline and others. The students gathered together by their silence, presented themselves to the Eucharistic Lord. It was followed by the Entrustment prayer.
The thought provoking message from the Gospel of Mt: 5: 16 — 18 by Vicar General, Msgr. Lucio Mascarenhas, Diocese of Belgaum. Enhanced the young hearts :You are the light of the world. Let your light shine, let it shine in you in others in the school, in your friends and in your neighborhood. Further he exhorted how teachers and students can be light and salt.  How they have to be different from others.  Jesus the light shines in our life. We need to shine into the life of others by our good action by our own life. Shine, shine and shine. 

The choir led by Sr. Priya and group of staff and students was proper to the adoration. Before the final Eucharistic Blessing, The hymn The world stands in need of liberation” was sung. After the final blessing and Divine praises, Rev. Fr. Nelson Pinto, carried the statue of our Lady of Fatima in procession together with all students and staff, singing to the tune of “Ave Maria”. The procession ended by the recitation of a Decade of Rosary”. 



Rev. Fr. Philipkutty Joseph, Principal, St. Xavier’s High School as a mark of Love, affection and gratitude thanked all for joining and sharing in the Eucharistic Blessings. As a token of love towards Mother Mary, The Mother of God. A Rosary was gifted to all and encouraged everyone to recite the Rosary everyday and to be close to Mother Mary. Fr. Philipkutty imparted blessings on all Mother bless your children. We pray to you mother, for all the staff and students and specially the 10th Std. batch of 220 students appearing for the forth coming public exam.. The much needed assistance and spiritual backup was rendered by his Lordship Peter Machado, Bishop of Belgaum, who happens to be the National Ecclesiastical Advisor for
The World Apostolate of Fatima in India. 

                
WE WANT TO SEE JESUS. It was a loving and wonderful experience, a hour spent in front of the Eucharistic Lord. We promise that every month we will have an hour of adoration and pray for all. May the good Lord bless St. Xavier’s staff and students, young and old, even the loving parents.
